What's new with "His Calling!"

Hello out there in Internet Land. It's been a while since I blogged and now sitting on the train with my trusty laptop I thought it would be the perfect time. There are so many things in the works that I can barely sleep these days. So many announcements as well. Where to begin?

Well I guess I will start with the most important thing by thanking Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with so many projects and helping me stay focused on completing them. I know it was God's hand that helped me write my novel “His Calling” and if any of you are interested in hearing that story look on the bottom of the club page to see the video of my book signing. Thank you Jesus for being a part of my life and for blessing me with such a great church – Gateway City Church Brooklyn, NY (http://www.gatewaycitychurch.net/ ) – where we met so many great people.

I just entered “His Calling” into a book contest: USA Book News (http://usabooknews.com/ ). There should be an add for it on July 20th – I will post a link. So please keep it in prayer. There are two other contest that I plan to enter it into but since it cost money to enter it I am waiting until later dates to do it – still have time since one dead line is in September and the other is in January.

I just finished putting together a script for a preview for the “His Calling” film. It is one of the current projects I am working on and will hopefully have it out for you soon. Its in my prayers that it will generate some buzz for the story since it is going to take me a while to put the whole film together. Since it is completely computer animated I have to sit around and design ever since thing – down to the dust in Paul's room. So give me time.

At this point it doesn't look like I will be able to use all the voices of everyone I originally planned when I wrote the book. They are busy doing very important things, whether it is furthering their education or involved in other ministries. We wish them well and pray for their success in all things of God. Since this is animated I will still get to use their faces which helps with the way I pictured it in my head, just the voices will belong to other people.

In case you missed it I was recently interview on an inter radio program called “Books And Things,” with host Anthony Littlefield. It was a good interview and I had a great time doing it. Anthony really knew how to put his guest at easy which I imagine is not an easy thing. He was a great host and I hope you can check out his show which is on Wednesday at 6PM at the following link: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Books-and-Things . Also, you can hear my interview there under “On-Demand Episodes.” My interview is under the July 11th episode. Let me know what you think.

Now comes to the next big announcement. I was trying to work on a new book called, “ALPHA,” which was based on this program I attended that help lead me to Christ. It is an awesome program and you should really check it out (http://www.alphana.org/ ). We might be doing a little PSA on it which is very exciting but I am going off track now. So I was working on this book for a few months now but kept running into problems on how I was going to do it. I really didn't want it to be too preachy and wanted to incorporate some action into it as well. So I decided to put it down for a little bit and just work on something else – I like to always be doing something so I keep the feeling of a forward momentum with my work plus it is sometimes helpful to put it to the side when you finding yourself hitting a wall.

Many people who have read “His Calling” have approached me and asked if there was going to be a sequel to it. A continuing story line with these three girls. I always said yes cause I had a sort of idea of what it would be about. So for the heck of it I decided to write a little outline for “His Calling II.” I thought of it as just something to keep my creative juices going.

Wouldn't you know it, in 2 and a half hours I wrote the whole outline for the whole book. I am very excited about it. As with any good sequel, the bad guys and the situations have to be much tougher than the previous one and I feel I captured that. The whole outline just flowed right out of me as if I already knew the whole story.

So now I am doing the research needed to write the sequel to His Calling. It's not something that is going to be coming out too soon because it is not the only project I am working on right now – as you can tell from this blog – and it is not the number 1 on my list of things to do. I do have a feeling, though, that the sequel might very well be out before I am finished with the first movie. I am very excited about it and I hope you are too.

Well that is everything that I have been up too lately, I am glad you stuck out to read this to the end. Many things in the works and I am thanking Jesus for all the work he is doing with me and my wife. I hope this has been informative and I look forward to any questions and/or thoughts you might have concerning the “His Calling” series.

Thank you for your time.
